We have been taught from a young age to avoid anything that is uncomfortable. Taboo topics are money, sex, politics, religion, and race. We do not talk about them because it makes people feel uncomfortable. In the LTAR professional learning workshop, you will learn how implicit bias, race, and ethnicity formulate behavior for you, colleagues, and your organization. According to Glen Singleton from his book "Courageous Conversations About Race," there are three protocols one must follow when having these uncomfortable conversations. Be prepared to be challenged, frustrated, and walk away with a better understanding on how to have a conversation about race.
